Introduced in 1974, the Waffle Trainer is a true original in the running world. Its simple design and legendary waffle sole are instantly recognizable. The Air Max Plus, released in 1998, revolutionized sneaker technology with its visible Air unit and bold, graphic upper. Merging these two distinct ends of the Nike spectrum makes the Air Max Waffle Racer SP so fascinating.

The shoe combines the classic nylon and suede upper of the Waffle Trainer with a twist. The heel features a sculpted design and visible Tuned Air unit from the Air Max Plus. This tech upgrade promises enhanced comfort, while the waffle outsole maintains its signature traction pattern.

Upper: mesh
Lining: textile

Max Air was the first visible version of Nike's Air technology. Inspired by the modern inside-out architecture of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Hatfield developed the Air Max and literally opened a window onto the sole of the shoe. And thus started a revolution in the world of footwear.

About Nike

"Just do it" : Hardly any other brand lives its brand slogan like the sporting goods manufacturer founded in Beaverton in 1971. In the 1960s, athletics coach Bill Bowerman set himself the task of developing the perfect running shoe for his students. Together with the student Phil Knight, this project gave rise to the company Nike, which celebrated its breakthrough at the 1972 Olympic Games. Among the greatest achievements in the company's history are the involvement of the exceptional basketball talent Michael Jordan and the introduction of visible Nike Air® cushioning on the Nike Air Max 1. In the 80s film classic "Back to the Future", the Nike Mag with its automatic lacing plays a central role. Nike's chief designer Tinker Hatfield has recently managed to turn this dream idea into reality. Using Nike E.A.R.L. technology, he has launched the first self-lacing shoe on the market, heralding the future of sneaker development.
