The Arc'teryx Vertex Alpine is a completely covered version of the approach shoe. It balances the fit and functionality of trail runners with the stability needed for long days on technical terrain. It is lightweight and combines support and protection with a secure ride. The Vibram XS Flash 2 outsole offers high friction values and edge stability and is designed for performance on the trail and grip on wet and dry surfaces. A TPU shank and toe cap provide protection. The entry made of knitted material keeps dirt out.

The idea of Vitale Bramani, the forefather of the Vibram sole, was to increase safety in the mountains. His design was the Carrarmato sole and the most suitable material was rubber, inspired by tires that work on any surface. Therefore, Vitale Bramani first worked with tire manufacturer Goodyear to produce the first prototypes of Carrarmato soles. He subsequently continued to innovate, developing increasingly high-performance soles.
