The Old Skool, originally known as Vans #36, debuted in 1977 with a unique innovation: a random scribble by founder Paul Van Doren, originally called the ‘Jazzstripe’. Today, the famous Vans side stripe is the unmistakable and instantly recognisable trademark of Vans. The Old Skool with an upper made of durable suede and canvas in a range of fresh colours is a tribute to this tradition and should not be missing from the OTW Collection! The model also features reinforced toe caps, a padded edge and a rubber outsole in the characteristic waffle look.

The idea of Vitale Bramani, the forefather of the Vibram sole, was to increase safety in the mountains. His design was the Carrarmato sole and the most suitable material was rubber, inspired by tires that work on any surface. Therefore, Vitale Bramani first worked with tire manufacturer Goodyear to produce the first prototypes of Carrarmato soles. He subsequently continued to innovate, developing increasingly high-performance soles. Durability, traction, elasticity, adaptability to any terrain have been the hallmarks of Vibram soles from the beginning - until today.
