For the Glenclyffe Low, The North Face was inspired by climbing shoes and designed a shoe for urban exploration. The Glenclyffe Low is equipped with numerous functional features - from the quick lacing to the reinforced toe protection and the stretch bootie construction to the sock-like fit. The Vibram® XS Trek outsole provides traction and stability on asphalt or hiking trails. The North Face also uses 100% recycled polyester for the upper.
Upper: textile
Lining: textile
Outsole: rubber
Technology: Vibram

The idea of Vitale Bramani, the forefather of the Vibram sole, was to increase safety in the mountains. His design was the Carrarmato sole and the most suitable material was rubber, inspired by tires that work on any surface. Therefore, Vitale Bramani first worked with tire manufacturer Goodyear to produce the first prototypes of Carrarmato soles. He subsequently continued to innovate, developing increasingly high-performance soles. Durability, traction, elasticity, adaptability to any terrain have been the hallmarks of Vibram soles from the beginning - until today.

About The North Face

The North Face was founded in 1966 by Doug Tompkins as an outfitter store for skiing and backpacking in San Francisco. Under the brand slogan "Never Stop Exploring", high-quality, innovative and technical outdoor clothing is produced. In 1977, the brand mantra even led to the invention of "Gore-Tex technology". The brand is also an important essential for everyday wear in wind and weather. At The North Face, special emphasis has always been placed on the responsible use of chemicals in the production of clothing. High-end streetwear TNF shows for years through their exclusive sub-brand *Purple Label*. The Japanese design team around Creative Director Eiichiro Homma is now also responsible for the Capsule Collection, which is selectively and limitedly available at asphaltgold in addition to a few other stores in Germany.
