About
The brand A.P.C. was founded in 1987 by the Tunisian-French designer Jean Touitou in Paris. The roots of the globally successful contemporary brand go back to a small accident. During a trip to Barcelona, Jean Touitou lost his luggage, forcing him to spontaneously re-dress. He noticed that it was incredibly difficult to find quality raw denim jeans at the time. This circumstance prompted him to launch his first own collection, which at the time mainly included raw denim jeans and underwear for men. In the meantime, A.P.C. offers complete prêt-à-porter collections for men and women. In doing so, the brand embodies an authentic French design style. The minimalist collections distance themselves from the extravagance of other brands and return to their roots. This is exactly what makes the identity of A.P.C.. Stylish and casual looks inspired by everyday life: classic, timeless and chic. Big and flashy brandings are rarely found, the focus is on the cut and the quality of the individual pieces. The name "A.P.C." is an abbreviation and literally means "Atelier de Production et de Création", as production and creation have the same importance for the brand. Without production, creation remains nothing more than an idea, and without creation, a garment has no soul of its own. A.P.C. stands for a constant and uniform design concept. A.P.C. now operates almost 70 of its own boutiques around the world. A.P.C.'s broad fan base includes not only loyal customers, but also some of the most sought-after brands and designers in the world. In this context, collaborations with brands like Nike, Carhartt WIP, JJJJound, Brain Dead and style icons like Kid Cudi and fashion legend Kanye West have already been established.
